Dear Tumblr: This is one of the best photos I’ve ever taken, ever. It makes me feel calmer just looking at it, and I could use a bit of that today. I wanted to share it with you.
another late night at the rock: sharks win game one against the red wings and a really drinkable scotch ale.
“alas, a pint which has satisfied me cravings of copper gold bubbly while sailing thee high seas, matey.”
iron springs x2 double pale ale, which is more notoriously known as the “crippla”. fresh and floral with a long semi-dry finish with light bitterness and a sweet hop aftertaste. this could pass as an india pale ale with session status. liquid gold.
i do apologize for the lull in food postings. however, i assure you i’ve not been starving! so to start things off right once again, lets all raise a pint of your favorite brew and give a good chug of that wholesome fermented yeast infested copper stuff. it is firsty thridays by the way.
giordano bro’s know how to make a fix for those who think its too much work to eat your sandwich AND fries AND slaw separately. and can’t beat the two dollar brews.
its friday. i think i shall dedicate this day to posting pictures of beer. we shall call it, fill em up fridays, or frothy fridays, or how about firsty thridays, as opposed to thirsty thursdays, cuz i couldn’t think of anything better to say…
how about we just let the pictures talk?
if you’re ever in petaluma, looking at, nature, i guess, then stop by the lagunitas brewing co. they’ve recently opened up their beer sanctuary and garden (basically a tap room with live music, a small kitchen, free pretzels, and plenty of fine beer served in old school mason jars or wine tumblers). that in the foreground was their imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels.
the infamous hollenbeck burrito with extra meat, chile verde pork in this instance. i used to go here as a kid, when my parents took weekly trips to la for buying loot at the alley to resell to nor-cal customers. manuel still looked the same. i come to find out, he’s still around, and as feisty as usual. passing out free bud lights and a shot of ‘mystery’ tequila. i admit, i was feeling it. not to mention the food hasn’t changed one bit. and that’s a damn good thing for el tepeyac cafe, la.
i’ve spoken to a viet friend who moved to sf from ny. said it was the best he’d ever had. asked my gf’s parents about it? said it was probably the best in sj. all from a mall stall fast food joint. duck porridge from Chao Vit Thanh Da. great the first time, mediocre the second. but then, these are my taste buds, not yours.
i sure wish hubert keller was related to thomas keller. then i would’ve asked him to get me priority guest list reservations at the french laundry while i was shaking his hand after this meal at burger bar, sf. really good burgers, and the buffalo was mad tasty served as 1 of 3 in this burger sampler slider dish. but be prepared to spend about 30 bucks a person. oh, and they have really good (rare?) belgium brews on hand, notably, the duvel green and the chimay’s. sante!.
get lucky at lucky 13 in alameda, and maybe even a bit shit-faced, and this is how the bar with one, two, six, thirteen, a lot of beers on tap, looks…purrrrrrrrrrrrrr
